More about S. Gardner Riel...
Bonnie Duncan

Prior to joining ElderLink in 2001, Bonnie Duncan was employed by
Southern Bell for five years in the
Accounting
Department and Engineering Department. This job required many deadlines
and reports, which helped prepare her for the clerical end of her job at
ElderLink. After taking time off to raise her family of four children, she
began a career as a private caregiver for elderly clients in their homes
and in local facilities. Being familiar with assisted and long-term care
facilities has provided her with the much-needed understanding in relating
to both elders, and caregivers in handling many situations which arise in
her job.
She enjoys the opportunity to continue to work with the elderly and feels
that she and her coworkers provide them with valuable services.
She enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and their children. She
also enjoys gardening, reading, and playing with her grandaughter, Emily.
Debora C. Butler

Debbie has her B.A. from Agnes Scott College and had previously been in
the Human Resources field for over 10 years.
Her change in career paths came after much careful thought and
deliberation. She wanted to be in the Social Services field where she
could directly impact the quality of life for the elderly. After
networking with others in this field she met Gardner Riel was very
fortunate to be able to join this organization. She feels that the work is
extremely diverse- auctions, Dr.’s appointment, Care Plan meetings,
assessments, selling of personal properties, moving clients to new
residences and many other interesting activities
make this position rewarding and satisfying.
Debora plans on continuing her education in the Geriatric Field.
Debora is married and has a five year old son, Warren. They attend St.
Paul’s Episcopal Church. Her outside interests include, gardening,
decorative arts, Russian History and the culinary arts.
Myrna Pabellon

Myrna Pabellon graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1988 with
her B.S.N. degree in nursing.
Since
her graduation she has worked in Surqual Intensive Care Unit and the burn
unit in the University hospital in Puerto Rico.
In 1994 Myrna moved to Jacksonville where she started working with elders
at the geriatric medical surgical unit at Baptist medical center.
Since 1999 she has worked in various LTC facilities.
During the summer of 2001 Myrna started working for ElderLink as an RN.
Myrna has been married for 15 years and is the proud mother of a two
beautiful children ages 6 and 4. She and her husband are members of
Christian Family Chapel.
Shannon Chambers–Aguilar

Shannon Chambers–Aguilar has always felt that she should work in a
position where she could care for people.
She
felt a yearning in her heart that someday she would do something that
would brighten the lives of other people.
Shannon’s work history includes caring for young children in a school
setting. She enjoyed helping children, but as much as she loved caring for
children she felt that life was pushing her in a different direction.
Soon after Shannon starting working for ElderLink she knew her life
calling was working with elders, and to help them enjoy their later years.
She gains a deep sense satisfaction her visits bring to elders she
regularly visit. She also enjoys both the blessings and challenges that
come with working with elders and their families. Shannon does not see her
job as time consuming but as time well spent.
While Shannon is currently in college full time earning her B.A. in
Business Administration and it is her wish that she will be going on to
law school to become an Elder Law Attorney.
When Shannon is not working or in school she is enjoying life as a newly
wed. She enjoys sitting with her husband, Chris, and having long talks
about the future. Shannon also enjoys spending time with her family in
Orlando and Davenport, Florida.
